Global Market Expansion Program 2025

AfricArise is committed to helping startups and organizations to showcase, raise funds, and scale internationally to attain authentic success through a thorough and personalized program that provides a dedicated mentorship and consultation process among other resources.

The Korea Africa Foundation (KAF) will support startups through the Global Market Expansion Program. Seven climate tech startups and eight aging-tech startups have been selected for a five-week program in Korea, followed by programs in South Africa and Kenya, and During these programs, they will receive valuable mentorship and develop meaningful strategies towards sustainable global expansion.

BrownSkin is a South Korean sustainable materials startup pioneering the world’s first agro-based regenerated leather made from food and leather waste. By tackling environmental issues like chemical pollution, leather industry waste, and low recycling rates, BrownSkin has developed a circular production model achieving over 95% recycling efficiency.

GreenerLab Inc. is a South Korean climate tech company providing AI-powered urban forestry and tree care solutions. Their flagship platform, TreeAiD, is a SaaS platform that combines AI diagnostics, IoT sensors, and digital twin mapping to support data-driven, preventive tree care for urban areas.

Hyscape is a South Korean cleantech startup developing low-cost, scalable PEM and AEM electrolyzers for green hydrogen production using renewable energy sources (solar, wind). The company focuses on improving affordability and performance by minimizing precious metal usage and simplifying cell structures.

IOMTEK

IOMTEK is a South Korean deeptech company specializing in climate-resilient nanomaterials. Their flagship agricultural innovation, AgriCool Film, is a high-emissivity, metal-free, water-based polymer film that passively regulates temperature and light inside greenhouses — enabling year-round cultivation, increased yield, and natural pest control in extreme climates.

Sentinel 

Sentinel is a South Korean climate tech company focused on converting organic waste—particularly coffee husks—into bioenergy products such as biochar, bio-oil, and solid fuels. Their decentralized, modular systems are designed to support clean cooking, soil regeneration, and decentralized energy production in Africa, with an initial focus on Uganda, Kenya, and South Africa.

TAB is a South Korean social impact startup addressing the global clean water crisis through low-cost, portable water purification and sterilization devices. Their innovations are designed for disaster relief, refugee support, and underserved rural communities. TAB offers two main products: a filter-based purifier (Plop Tap) and a cap-type UV sterilizer.

Terracle

Terracle is a South Korean deep-tech startup specializing in chemical recycling of PET plastic through an innovative depolymerization process. Their technology converts PET waste into high-purity TPA (terephthalic acid) and EG (ethylene glycol) without the need for pre-treatment. The startup is already commercialized and actively scaling.
